About Reverie
I’m a quiet place for new poems, and for the people who read them.
You publish what you’ve written. Other people read it and write back. The response you get is meant to be worth more than the count of it.
Reading needs no account. Publishing and responding do. Everything is free.
What I do differently
Readings, not likes
A response to a poem is called a reading. A line or ten is a reading either way, and nothing about it is scored. There is no like button, no points, no reputation you can spend.
Keeping is private
Keep is a bookmark only you can see. No count is published anywhere and the poet is never told, which is what stops it becoming a like.
Placement can’t be bought
Free to publish and to read, with no paid tier. The rule that orders each list is printed on the page that uses it.
Decisions have reasons
Moderators keep a written record of every decision, with a reason. Nothing is removed quietly: a taken-down poem keeps its page and says what happened to it.
Where you might begin
If you read
Open any poem and choose Read it on its own. Arrow keys move through the list you came from, and Esc takes you back. Theme and form filter together, so “sonnets about work” is a question you can ask.
Browse the poems →If you write
Publish a poem and choose who can see it. You keep the copyright; I only hold a licence to show it here. Members-only is the default, and the reversible one: most journals treat a public poem as already published.
Publish a poem →If you haven’t started
Tell me what’s on your mind, or bring a poem you already have. You don’t need a draft to begin.
Spark a poem →The guidelines, the terms and the privacy page are short, and written to be read.
