The poem
The fridge hums its one noteand I stand in its lightlike a man being questioned.
Nothing in here is mine. The milk belongs to tomorrow. The cold belongs to the house.
The poet asked for: Does the last line earn itself, or is it a shrug?

The interrogation image is the poem, and you get to it in three lines, which is the right speed. My worry is the ending. "The cold belongs to the house" is doing the same work as "The milk belongs to tomorrow" — both are possession jokes, and the second one lands softer because we have already learned the move. You could cut it and end on the milk, which is stranger and less tidy. If you keep it, make the cold do something the milk cannot: the milk is temporary, the cold is the condition. Right now they are rhetorically identical.
