White dust.Forty-one yearsground into my knuckles —the only proof I kept that Ionce taught.
About the cinquainA five-line poem that narrows to a single word or beat at the end.
A cinquain builds in a fixed syllable count — two, four, six, eight, then two again — so the poem visibly tapers as it goes, opening wide and closing on almost nothing. That last short line usually lands the poem's real point, the way a breath catches at the end of a sentence.
The shape Five lines in a 2-4-6-8-2 syllable shape, tightening toward the end.
Listen for How the lines grow, then suddenly shrink — and what's left standing alone on that last short line.
