Wind carry me away

Wind carry me away, let me be a bird who flies.Free me from these lieswith the stars I will sway

Dress me in whiteembrace me with your arms, don't wake me up 'till it's calm, for I want to disappear for a while.

So whisper in my earwhen my freedom is near, into the sunset I will look, for those warming moments you took.

Time is slowing down,as I look at you with a frown. You take the things that are left, from a heart that is now reft

So wind carry me away, let me be a galloping stallionhelp me fight my battalion,in the glowing light I will stay

About the lyric poemA poem in one speaker's voice, giving a feeling, moment or thought.

Lyric poem is a broad word more than a strict form. It usually means a poem in which one speaker voices a feeling, a moment or a thought, often with a song-like quality. It can rhyme or not, at any length. There is no fixed rule.

Something about "let me be a bird who flies" feels so light and so sad at once. The whole poem is gentle even though it's really about wanting to disappear. This one stayed with me.
