reverie

if i can't have youthen no one can't.

i'm not a selfish personin fact, it's quite the oppositebut when it comes to youmy love takes over all logical reasoningthis is what you do to mei can't control iti'm just a servant to my love.

i don't think you quite understandespecially what it is to be around youi wish you could experience yourselfi wish you could feel the way your delicate cells intertwine with mine so intimatelyi wish you could smell the aroma of your sweet flowery perfume mixed in with that coco shampoo you love so muchi wish you could see the way your beauty radiates and shines through the dark, lighting up my world.

so noi will not sharei will never shareyou are only minein this lifeand the many next ones.

The poet asked for: you. it's always you.

About free versePoetry without a set rhyme scheme or regular meter, shaped by the poet.

Free verse has no fixed rhyme scheme or regular meter, so there is no rule to check it against. That does not mean it lacks craft. The poet chooses where lines break, how long they run, and what repeats, and those choices shape it.

Listen for Where each line ends, and how that break changes the way you hear it.

"Then no one can't." The grammar breaking on purpose is the whole poem in miniature, logic surrendering exactly the way the second stanza says it does. I don't think I've read "servant to my love" and believed it until this one.

thank you i didn't think about the grammar when i wrote it, i just wrote what i felt in the moment

Everyone writes the big declarations. Almost nobody writes "that coco shampoo you love so much." That's the line that actually convinced me; the rest is intensity, that one's just true.

that line means the most to me actually. the small details are what make it true

"In this life and the many next ones" should read as too much and doesn't, somehow. I think it's because you never once ask if she wants to be kept. You just say you will. Scary and a little bit beautiful at once.

my love burns with such intensity that she matched it tenfold. i just repeat what she's told me at the end.
